This also gives opportunity for the addition of bass and drums. Fun undergraduate work.

Vibraphone(or saxophone), marimba (optional bass and drums). The theme, set in 8/4 meter, features an off-beat, syncopated melody played in unison. The middle chorus section uses chord symbols for a vibe improvisation and a notated chordal accompaniment for marimba.

This is a Marimba and Vibe duet (the Vibraphone could also be for saxophone). Piece is mostly in 5/4 but changes meter a couple of times to 2/4 and 3/4. Both parts use accidentals rather than key signatures and only the marimba player uses 4 mallets. Both parts start out in unison, but then it turns into marimba accompanying the vibes. There is also a vibe solo section.
