Programme Notes / Performance Details :

"Summon the Spirits" is inspired by taiko drumming, but it is not a taiko piece as such. You dont need real taiko drums - it can be adapted to whatever drums you have available.

The rhythm reading and dynamic variation involved in this piece is very accessible to an Intermediate level group and is an excellent vehicle for the learning of rhythm and effective drumming techniques.

"Summon the Spirits" is a flexible piece of music which has been used successfully in hundreds of school percussion ensembles already - because it works!

Extra Performance Notes: Parts can be doubled to 8, 12 or 16 players.
