Written for the Blackearth Percussion Group in 1968, this has become a regularly performed work on many university programs. The piece uses standard and graphic notation and a variety of time signatures. The performers play at opposite ends of the hall to create an antiphonal effect. This piece is exciting, primal, and at times bombastic. This is an excellent concert piece for an advanced undergraduate or graduate ensemble. This piece was written in response to Russel Peck`s, "Lift Off" for three players.
