This piece has 3 parts, and will need some advanced players to complete the whole piece. The mallet part goes back and forth between 2 mallet and 4 mallet passages. In between the the first movement, player 1 and 2 go into 3/4 duple feel while player 3, 4, and 5 stay in 9/8. Make sure you run that part with a metronome just to get the sense of how the music is going to flow. The 2nd movement is in 4/4 and is slow until the Recitative which is freely upon player 1 and 2. Movement 3 has a couple of time signatures changes, but nothing to drastic. Make sure you comprehend the tempo at rehearsal letter M, where the half note equals the quarter note.

All mallet parts require 4 mallets and has many block chords, and in general are difficult. All other parts are somewhat easier but still college level. Somewhat modern, highly rhythmic, and with some meter changes. Parts are all beautifully engraved.
