For any five instruments. This piece has become on the standards of chance music. Best executed if the players have no pre-conceived idea of idiom, merely playing what they wish to play. The first 2 or 3 tries with any group will be more or less unsatisfactory; after that the players will begin to listen to what happens, to time their entrances and to feel the silences for what they are, a creative part of the total piece. Everyone takes five cards and follows the directions that are on them. Fun piece, not difficult, programs well.
