Dr. J. B. Smith is Professor of Music and the Coordinator of Percussion Studies in the School of Music at Arizona State University.  He is internationally recognized as a performer, composer, educator and conductor.

He directs the ASU Contemporary Percussion Ensemble and has performed with a variety of ensembles including The Desert`s Edge Clarinet-Percussion Duo with Dr. Robert Spring, Crossing 32nd Street, Ensemble 21, The Daniel Lentz Group, Summit Brass and The Phoenix Symphony. Fully notated work for six drummers, each with one conga. Included is an in-depth notation key with conga technique tutorial. Good introduction to conga playing. Four varying sections are connected by metric modulation and pattern shifting. 7 minutes.
