A standard for trombonists. Mr. Benson gives explicit directions for most of the piece. 4 mallets required throughout, but the parts are not difficult. The work begins slowly and is marked "Noble", "Lyrical", and "Elegiac". The middle section is rhythmically challenging containing quintuplets, septuplets, and other odd groupings traded back and forth between the players. The marimba uses a spiccato technique during this section, muted playing over the nodes. Ends with an original chorale. Excellent piece for graduate or undergrad recital.
