In 6 short mvements. Varies from fast to chordal with lyrical lines. Very tonal. Flute and marimba parts are of equal difficulty. Very demanding musically throughout. The last movement is fast and technically challenging. Fast switches between two and four mallets. Flutist needs to be technically strong. Program Notes: premiere: 23 February 1978, New York, Virginia Nanzetta(flute), Gordon Stout (marimba)
