Piece is composed as a series of eight songs in a set. Material is at MM or DMA level. Some sections are free form, others have multiple meter changes. There are many quik meter changes for the percussionist. Most percussion playing is on the mallet instruments and is very difficult. Various movements of the piece portray moods that are sardonic, ironic, some convey pathos, some are tongue-in-cheek. Flute part requires quarter tones in some sections, and also pitch bending. Excellent DMA recital piece. * For Laurel Miller, M.K. Clardey and R. Schietroma.
