The first movement is entirely free form. The fur mallet part is technically easy. Short lines and chromatic cluster chords on the vibes. Quarter tones and bent notes are required on all the instruments. Also flutter-tungue for the flute and harmonics on the bass. The Vibraphone improvises on suggested rhythms in the second movement. The Third movement is in common time. There are interesting and chalenging rhythmic interchanges between instruments. Requires tight ensemble work.
