This is a modern edition for 3 trumpets and timpani. The high level of trumpet playing in Dresden in 1760 is demonstrated not only by singing texture of these three surviving pieces, but by the range of the first part, which ascends as high as the 20th partial of the harmonic series. The timpani part was reconstructed by Edward H. Tarr. The edition consists of three short fanfares. The tonality is "D" though it is written in "C". The timpani is stylistically appropriate and not difficult technically.
