This piece needs trumpet, 2 cornets, trombone, piano, and 2 percussionists. All four movements consist of mixed-metered sections. All instruments play an equal role of solo and ensemble passages. Percussion part contains some difficult soft 16th note passages and the brass parts have some difficult rhythms. The 2nd movement has intricate castanet and tambourine parts. 3rd movement contains difficult fast runs on vibraphone. 4th movement has many challenging multi-instrument passages.
