Vibes are the main percussion instrument used. Percussion is used as an effect. Not for percussion recital, only to assist on euphonium recital. Six clarinets used as accompaniment. Difficult rhythmic unisons between euphonium and vibes. Some graphic notation. Euphonium range extends from F below bass clef to B in treble clef. Hammond: Needs a conductor at mm. 43. Clarinets used for color until halfway through. Then they become a more contrapuntal texture.
