Programme Notes / Performance Details : The purpose of this book is not to be a complete method, but to serve as a supplement for all other snare drum methods and solos. The exercises in this book were derived from many years with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and countless hours of writing out prescriptions for rudimentally ailing students. Many of the exercises have to be credited to Marty Hurley, Johns mentor. In fact, the book is dedicated to Marty Hurley. This book is designed to be used as a reference book not only for rudimental drummers but for all percussionists as well. It was also written for instructors to use as an aid in private lessons. It is simply designed to help with the rudiments, and should not be used as a method all by itself.
