Written for 16 saxaphones and 4 percussionists. Group is split into 4 quintets, each constisting of sop., alto, tenor, bari., and 1 perc. Quntets are placed at each corner of the performance hall, and give the piece a quad stereo effect. Percussionists utilize large setups. Composer uses lots of special effects including humming, key clicks, and percussionists playing with kniting needles. Piece is written in standard notation, with some graphic and improv. sections. Essentially a serial composition, there is much polyrhythmic interplay and rhythmic dialogue between each group throughout the work. Score is 55 pages long.
