Programme Notes / Performance Details :

"Kumi I" is the first of a series of Taiko Drum Impressions by American composer Ryan R. Laney. The instruments used are intended to sound similar to authentic taiko drums (o-daiko, shimedaiko, etc.) with intense, driving rhythms. The individual parts are not very difficult, and so lining them up as an ensemble is where the piece`s true challenges come from. 4 separate toms are required to play the piece. Enjoy!
