Programme Notes / Performance Details :

scenes for summertime is something of a short story; the 1st, 3rd, and final movements are shorter, and are somewhat easier, while the 2nd and 4th are more substnatial and contain some of the more challenging performance material. There is a clear narrative to the piece, but hopefully everyone will derive their own specific meanings.

Summer is a time that evokes a deep nostalgia for many people. Whether it be adventures had or friends made, summer holds special and secret memories for all of us.
