This book has exactly the same content as Drumset 101, also published by Alfred. This one is presented in a fun and colorful way for kids, while the other is a more streamlined, “grown-up” approach. Whatever your audience, these books are a great introduction to drumset for someone who has very little or no musical experience. They provide a very basic introduction to reading rhythms and charts, fun play-alongs, and an introduction to several different musical styles.
