C. Alan Publications was founded in 1989 to fill a need for high-quality percussion literature.  Since that time, they have adhered to the highest standards of music integrity in the percussion music they publish.  In 1997, they added a line of concert band music to their catalogue, which continues to flourish.  More recently they added music for orchestra (youth, string and full), brass ensemble, chorus, jazz ensemble and chamber ensembles.

In addition they are the sole distributor of 'Whole Sum Productions' percussion catalogue (WS).  Their music receives extensive exposure through performances on international concerts, clinics and conventions and is widely available on compact disc.

Programme Notes / Performance Details :Without a rhythm section and ensemble to play with, it is easy for a drummer to make errors without knowing it. The Jazz Drummer`s Reading Workbook provides written sequential exercises that gradually add new figures and longer summary etudes, all contained on 2 play-along CDs. The goal is to give drummers a chance to play musical examples similar to what they will encounter in the "real world."

Morgan’s book presents a study of stylistic fills and improvisation in a jazz context. It assumes a basic knowledge jazz drumset playing, and focuses on the challenges and nuances of playing with an ensemble. Over 150 play-along tracks give the student ample opportunity to practice “with the band”.
