Programme Notes / Performance Details :Homage A Mi Amigo was composed with the music of the legendary Tito Puente in mind. I have been fortunate enough to have worked with Tito on several occasions, and have seen first-hand how his music brings great joy to Afro-Cuban music lovers the world over. Not only is he a wonderful musician, but also his warm personality and showmanship are unequalled. Homage A Mi Amigo is a percussion duet in which both players share the same instruments. The rhythms are based on, and inspired by, those commonly found in Afro-Cuban music. The instructions regarding specific movements for the players will add the flair of showmanship to the performance. - Rich Holly
