In the first movement the quarter note equals 66, use of independet roll, subtle, deaccelerations, unmetered. In the second movement the mallet melody is in the middle, floating Rubato, mostly two mallet solo with some independent rolls at end, nice movement. In the thrid movement the quarter note equals 160 and it is technically most demanding, scherzo like, mallets used have saran wrap balls. The fourth movement is unmetered, free, improv style. Uses fast runs and indepedent rolls.
